The Pughbear is a moniker coined and used by coworkers, friends, family, and his wife, and it has even been adopted by acquaintances who want to join the fun. By day, he navigates the tech world as an IT professional. Work hard and play hard, as the saying goes! Outside his work life, Ryan transforms into a comedic powerhouse, captivating audiences with his witty videos, intentionally bad photoshops, and unforgettable stand-up routines.
With roots in entertaining, The Pughbear has made people laugh since childhood, thriving in a family that values humor and joy. Over the years, he has honed his craft as a voice-over artist, professionally voicing for internet, radio, tv, and more.
From 2017 to 2021, he rebranded his voice-over career, adding a comedic content aspect under the pseudonym Ryan Austin, where he created beloved characters like "Rick Modelo," a wannabe hand model, and "Phartee Knocker," an eclectic Scottish grump, "Bobby Ray," a terrible hillbilly father.
Ryan's hilarious “man on the street” gags gained popularity, and his birthday posts—cringe-worthy masterpieces featuring his face plastered onto others—have become a Facebook sensation. When he’s not busy heads-down in the Information Technology space, he will most likely be found spreading laughter or engaged in some level of shenanigans, all while being policed by Mrs. Pughbear.

Ryan is a devoted husband and father of three amazing young men and has a basset hound named Annie (a.k.a. Wee Annie). He enjoys socializing just as long as his introvert batteries are adequately charged. Ryan's (The Pughbear) interests span his faith, traveling, technology, aviation, music, and audio production, allowing him to explore creativity in many forms.
Pandemic Reboot!
The year 2020 and the time it took to overcome and heal from all the fallout following the pandemic were difficult for many around the globe. "The Pughbear" is a post-pandemic relaunch of levity and laughter that is so desperately needed in times like these. With a big warm heart and an even bigger personality, The Pughbear is ready to bring the medicine of laughter again with each little gag/quip/joke at a time.
